Because I suffered from a lack of creativity, I came up with this rather standard shot. I am ok with the technical details (although it took me about 100 shots) and the lightly desaturated toning. I am not so happy with the originality of this picture.

SB-600 pointed on a white blanket behind the glass. It was at 1/16th power with the wide angle deflector on it. (and a plastic bag around it against the water drops)

Skull Burners
simon.anderson has added a photo to the pool:
A friend at work makes his own range of relishes and sauces and has asked me to take some product shots for his portfolio and website.
I took loads of different types of shots including the normal white background pictures but thought I would share this one with a vibrant red backdrop.
I chose red due to the nature of some of the sauces which can be very very very hot.
I used red poster paper on a homemade table top stand then lit everything with three flashguns.
Two Jessops 360 AFDs were pointing directly at the backdrop and had on red gels and set to 1/16th power.
The main flashgun was my Nikon SB600 which was set to 1/2 power and was on a stand directly behind the camera pointing towards the ceiling, I held my silver reflector just above the flashgun and directed the light back towards the jars to spread the light.
Please check out my friend Harrys website and don't forget to buy something to give it a try.

I went to the movies the other day and during the previews I saw a trailer advertising for a new TV drama series called The Mob Doctor. I could care less what the show is about since I try not to watch much television but what caught my attention was an image similar to the one above promoting the show. I thought it was clever so I decided to try and duplicate it. This was my first attempt at creating a TV ad/poster. In my day to day usage of Photoshop I probably only use $100 worth of the software so I tried to push it to $150 worth of usage in this shot.

I was messing around practicing some lighting and though maybe I would post something completely differnt. I never want to post anything that doesn't fit the style and mood that I have established with this stream. I often read other photographs struggling with this as well... maybe I'll end up deleting it, but thought i'd post it.

¿Surgió de bajo tierra?
¿Se desprendió del cielo?
Estaba entre los ruidos,
herido,
malherido,
inmóvil,
en silencio,
hincado ante la tarde,
ante lo inevitable,
las venas adheridas
al espanto,
al asfalto,
con sus crenchas caídas,
con sus ojos de santo,
todo, todo desnudo,
casi azul, de tan blanco.
Hablaban de un caballo.
Yo creo que era un ángel.

Let me first just start off by saying that this is day 206 and that means 160 days left for me to take photos so when you divide that by 64 and round up the 7 and then take 32 away your left with this idea for 2 computer speakers and a 2nd day where the color blue is apparent. --Ideas are what 366 is about, the longevity of a project that involves taking that photo each day is where you really can let that expression out like i had mentioned before but every single day is another story ---we always hear of authors that have writers block but what do we call that when as a photographer inspiration is catching up from where you took your photo and trying to stay creative everyday ---theres 366 in a row --but dont worry joe its almost 7 months down and 5 more to go...
