Jose Luis Alcaine at the Barbican in London

Jose Luis Alcaine, pictured here with his wife, is an award-winning Spanish cinematographer who has worked with directors such as Pedro Almodovar on films including Volver and The Skin I Live In. He was invited to a special screening of the film 'A Farewell to Arms' at the Barbican in London to talk about his theory that the inspiration for one of Picasso's most famous paintings, Guernica, was actually based on a short sequence in the 1933 Hollywood movie.

This event was part of a season of films curated by Sin Fin Cinema to complement a major exhibition of Picasso works at Tate Britain.
