Man it feels good to pick back up the camera! I havent taken a single shot in around 4 weeks. I got sick of it and decided to take a picture of my favorite thing at the moment, my basketball. I go into funks of hobbies and right now Im really into basketball. Ive always played a little bit but lately its all I do pretty much as far as after school. I made a dramatic lighting to try to show how important it is to me. It sounds lame but its a way to express yourself just like with any other interest. Basketball is a great way to get all of your frustrations out. Hope you guys like this picture.

I got a new toy this evening, a reversing ring. It allows you to reverse the lens on your camera so you can use it for macro work. The issue is that the lens you used really has to have a manual aperture control ring on it as there is no electronic linkage on the reversing ring. No problem for me as I have my Dad's old Sun 38-90mm lens which when reversed give enormous magnification. I'm not sure what it is but I'd hazard a guess at 2:1 or even 3:1? Anyone know how to work it out (bearing in mind that the lens is backwards!) This shot is full frame and not cropped at all.
Oh and this penny has been inside our washing machine which is why it is so battered.

Ava is one of the absolutely most striking, stunning women I've ever shot with. The great thing is I did have a chance for a quick shoot with her (proving life is good), the bad news is I think she was visiting from Arizona and only here for a few days (he says with big sad eyes).
My dear friend Anna, aka Lady Battikah, invited me to a group shoot she organized at a hotel in Anchorage, Alaska in November 2011. The theme was Christmas outfits but also included Gothic boots and other outfits - what a spectacle. Ava was one of Anna's guests - showing that Anna definitely has great tastes!
Strobist info - I went with a two light set-up using a Canon 580EXII at 1/2 power shot through a white umbrella and a Vivitar 285HV, also shot through an umbrella. I triggered the lights with Cybersync equipment.
