Strobist info:
LumoPro LP160 + Yongnuo RF-602RX with a snoot on the top right (about 45 degrees). Snoot head tightened with a wire. Canon 5D + Canon 85mm f/1.8. Triggered with Yongnuo RF-602TX.
I've been watching the old Star Trek series and I had forgot that the lighting is absolutely spectacular at some points. Today I bought my off camera flash stands and I tried to recreate that Star Trek lighting with a snoot. I'm quite satisfied with the result but here's a couple of things I would do different next time:
- Second flash from the background so that it would create a rim light to my right cheek. This way the face would stand out better from the background.
- Move the main light so that the nose would be more recognizable; now it doesn't have any form and looks a bit odd.
- Maybe adjust the main ligth a bit lower so that the right eye would come out more clearly.
I like the triangle on the right eye and the triangle on the lower right cheek although there are a couple of straws from my beard...
If you have any other additions or opinions I'm glad to hear them!
