Taken for MSH, "Classic Lines".
When my nan died when I was about 10 years old, I remember going into her house and filching a china money box in the shape of an owl. I'd like to say I did this to have something to remember her by, but I think I just liked the look of it. (It was empty of course: what do you take me for? A thief?)
Since then -- for the last 40 years -- I've been trying to get this bloody owl full of coins. It's not especially big, but in the past I've raided it because I was hard up or simply because I needed some change.
It's probably had every coin of the realm in it, including shillings and farthings. Nowadays I only put £1 coins in it.
Well I finally filled it up yesterday and after counting it out I discovered I had £109.
I'M RICH BEYOND MY WILDEST DREAMS!
Any suggestions on what I should do with the money? The current Mrs Travis thinks I should buy some new underpants for my holiday but I know my flickr friends will be much more imaginative than that.
