UnZip the Bokeh and Colour by Numbers!

Nodule1 has added a photo to the pool:

UnZip the Bokeh and Colour by Numbers!

Shot for Bokeh Thursdays... Domestic engineering. the Lead in a Pencil is actually Graphite (a form of pure carbon), powdered and mixed with water under extreme heat & pressure, moulded into thin rods which are then placed in a slat of Cedar which has a groove cut in the middle for the rod. another slat is then glued on top and the slats are then shaped and cut to length! These particular pencils have had dye added to the graphite. The dyes and associated chemical industries are responsible for the expression to "take the P..." if you really want to know more fmail me :-)

pencils are placed on a raised whiteboard platform with gold and red tinsel just below in line of sight. Pencils lit with two strobes on 1/32 and 1/128 respectively one in a softbox one through a brolly. a third flash under the platform bursts directly into the tinsel for the reflections. Three shots with different focal points along the pencils merged in photoshop to give an element of continuous sharpness.

I think coloured pencils have a little potential!

Strobist: SB700 at 1/128th through a brolly, High and Left of Camera. YN560 at 1/32nd in a softbox high RoC. Platform is in fact a plastic chopping board under which is a small sunpak auto 20 set to max -shooting into the pile of tinsel and spilling up into and through the chopping board.
