Stars over Temple of the Moon

IronRodArt - Royce Bair (NightScapes on Thursdays) has added a photo to the pool:

Stars over Temple of the Moon

Starry night sky over Temple of the Moon - a sandstone monolith located in the remote Cathedral Valley of Capital Reef National Park. Temple of the Sun is in the distance, on the left. The Temple of the Moon is about 280 feet (85 m.) high. Photographed in one 15 seconds exposure, 2 hours after sunset. The glow on the horizon is the approaching moonrise. (This is a remote area, in the northern most region of the park, that is only accessible with a four-wheel drive vehicle via primitive dirt roads and river crossings!)

Canon EOS 5D Mark II
EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM
15 sec. @ f2.2 • ISO 3200
Light Painting w/ stationary 2-million candlepower quartz halogen (diffused) from a distance of 700 feet.
