In my early SLR days I had a Canon 35-70 lens and that was it. And I think it was probably a fairly lousy lens, or at least I found it so. Over the years various lenses have come and gone - varying quality, all sorts of brands. Then, after a couple of years of getting my first digital SLR I got my first red ring. Not the aftermath of a savage curry but one of Canon's flagship lenses. And I have to say that it's pretty much been a love affair ever since. I know lenses, and gear in general, do not make a good photo, but I enjoy having good gear and feel very privileged to be able to afford such things. Order of purchase :- top left, bottom right, top right, bottom left.
