Noticed that our sad little cherry tree was blooming, which meant it was time for some macro shots! This sad little cherry tree is always shaded by these larger trees, hence the reason it never grows any bigger than it's sad twig-like state. Meet Twiggy.
Well, the blooms were beautiful but my initial pictures of the flowers came out grey given that the flowers pointed downward in the shade. At this point I decided to run back upstairs, get my speedlite and cable, and started experimenting with outdoor flash! What a difference it makes!
I'm still experimenting, but my aha moment came today as I learned to use flash as fill light. :)
