The light painting was done with a set of pink christmas lights my roommate lent me. For this shoot, I had a three light set up: a flash on the left, right, and behind Gina. The camera was on a tripod, set to a 30 second exposure with a 10 second timer. After the flashes fired, I turned off the flashes (as they would continue to work as modeling lights) then I and my assistant Emily swung the pink lights behind Gina. The soft halo around Gina's head is because the third flash was not on the same power source as the front two, so when I turned off the power source the back lighting did not turn off.
