We have a lime tree at ours that has ebbed and flowed between prolific and sparse over the years. It is just on the way up again, which is fantastic as I love lime in our thai dishes and for those who insist on it in the neck of their mexican beer. :)

first in a series of experiments. 3 strobes, one up above with blue gel, one in the sink with a red gel and in a zip lock bag, one to the right behind my right arm. Just a touch of ambient light. Speed lights set to 128th to 1/32 power. 1/125 sec at F6.3 and ISO 400. All strobes zoom set to max. The 3rd on on the right was goboed with black foil. My wife poured cold water over my head after triggering the 3 sec timer on the camera.

Found a Weta inside recently. It was quite happy just sitting there while I snapped away with extension tubes and a flash. The body of this Weta was about 4cm long.

In life we gotta try things over and over again until we succeed.I'm sure everyone's played this game. no one hits the bulls-eye on the first try. Well taking this picture I couldn't catch the dart in the air right away, not the way I wanted. So I took like 40 pictures before I got this one. my girlfriend hit the mark twice. Caught this shot just before it hit bulls-eye.

Lit with a 580ex2 using ETTL triggered by the 600D. Light is off to the top right.
Diffused using, erm, the polythene bag it (and its friends) came home in... which was about 6 inches off shot right.

Andrew works occasionally at an antique store and happened to be there the day we walked in to look around. It was kind of a slow day so we started chatting a bit. I mentioned the Strangers project to him and he agreed to a photo after some questions. There was a colorful wall just outside so I asked him to stand by it. Andrew was a natural in front of the lens. Turns out his dad was a photojournalist, so he’s been photographed many times. (My dad was also a professional photographer, so I know how that goes).

Well it was practical night at DDCC this evening and this is the first time that I have ever had a go at water statutes, I have to be honest its dam addictive! shot with sigma 24-70 f2.8 lens, f9, ISO 200 with flash mounted on camera powered between 1/4 and 1/32 to get the right shots.
