A Teloschistes species, at least one Ramalina species, and two or more other species I can't identify.
This background by the way is artificial. I brought the stick indoors to take a picture of it, mainly because of lighting and wind problems.
Strobist info: This is simply lit, with an SB900 in a Lumipro softbox III camera-right about 1 foot away. A green pebbly-textured yoga mat a few inches beyond the stick made a reasonably bright and colorful background (which would otherwise be black because of the f/32 aperture needed for DOF.)

Second try. This time I tried to create a clean atmosphere. It's pretty hard to make these "tats" .. I think I won't get far with this drop infusion :D It took so looooong :(
The result is kinda funny... This drop looks like an alien controlling a ball with his mind :D haha^^
I'm really curious how to create really great tats..so I'll keep trying!

Dennis

Over the last year, I, along with my other Peoria Strobist group admins, have been trying to boost the interaction and growth of the group. One of the best things we ever implemented was our Strobist meetups, especially our October "Halloween" shoot.
These images are some of my favorite from this year and really defines for me what being a member of an off-camera lighting group is all about. We had a total blast with everyone, including photographers, dressing up and modeling. A special thanks goes to Travis & Tesa Bailie for letting us "borrow" their spooky barn and farm fields for the evening.
This Shot
Right after the "crawling" shot with Layna, I asked Cassy to join us and went for a "war torn brides" shot. I love that the girls are pulling their skirts up to run faster from whatever may be chasing them and I'm especially glad that they took my direction to have Cassy look at the camera while Layna was looking over her shoulder for their "chasers!"

Jewelry Setup
A triple diffused studio light on the left (to really soften the highlights) and a snooted+grid light on the right (blow-out the background), triggered with Pocket Wizards. Black + White cards on the bottom add white & black reflections that further define the shape. Jewelry is suspended 6-8" away from background with wood & fishing line.
Note: The light behind the white sheet is just the camera's LCD screen.

Here's the thing about Pong: despite looking like a tiny, annoying, toy dog: it turns out she's quite the opposite. I don't think Pong even knows how to bark and is the most mellow dog I have ever met. All she wants to do is be next to you and look cute. That's it. The only reason you could hate Pong, is if you liked cats.

After a very tasty breakfast we all went to our rooms to back up our images. It is very satisfying to sift through all the images and pick out the best ones.
There was little time to edit any of the images as it was time for our next session. We met Matt, another very talented athlete. Matt was going to be doing a bit of downhill mountain biking while we learnt the best positions and set up.
It was almost midday when we started and it was difficult to balance the dynamic range. The first skill Lukas taught us was panning. We all set up next to the bend, set our shutter speed to 1/60 and shot. Panning is a very difficult technique. Most of my images were too blurred to upload.
After the panning shot we went to the jump. The woods made it easier to find the best exposure but the images were rather flat. I therefore decided to use some flash to add depth.

This thing is really tiny, around 9cm long it only weights 17gr and has been designed for a new kind of fishing called Rockfishing dedicated to extra light tackle fishing for small saltwater fish. A very simple set-uop for this one, a white cardboard, one light and one reflector, I love the result though, you can perfectly see the texture of the handle and every single detail.
