This lovely lady, I believe was mediterranean or european. Her stylist and her were laughing about it but I forget where they were both originally from. There was clearly a long relationship there though, old friends, accommodating each other for the purpose of creativity.
I don't know if she liked being in front of the camera, but again following the technique of self-mockery I managed to make her laugh a few times and then relax a little more in front of my camera. This was easily the most relaxed she was in the chair in front of me.
I love the strange juxtaposition of this vintage americana/anglophile hairdo wit the modern plugs and nose bullring piercing. The dress fits her beautifully, the silhouette was great, but there was such a nuance to mixing those old and modern styles. One so formal and rooted in tradition, and the other this neo-tribal expansion of western self expression. For me personally, that really hit home. Mixing it up.
Check out the salon's facebook page, some great people working there.

Strobist info:
Shot with two SB800s, large umbrella (60" I believe) right directed across front to feather back on subject and a smallish softbox higher above firing down from photographer's left. Each about 3' away from subject.
