I still have nothing to say. I do have lots of cool bands that I'm going to share with you though.
Exit_International
6 string guitars are so last year. Exit_International are the future and have dispensed with the traditional vocals/guitar/bass/drums lineup, dropped the guitar and added a bass instead. That's right, you get TWO bassists for the price of one here. Plus a drummer. They're clever with it though and one bass stays low while the other goes high combining to make ... well, one hell of a sexy noise.
It's shouty, it's loud, but above all it's tunes you can hum to yourself all day long. They have tunes. LOTS of tunes. I can't recommend this band highly enough.
I met them in December last year after they tore my ears a new asshole with a blistering set and they were also really cool, signed stuff for me and stopped to chat for ages.
Remember this band because they can go far.

Oaf
Ahh, the mighty Oaf. I saw these guys in December 2010. We were warned to expect strangeness. Imagine my surprise when a bloke with long hair and a Cardiacs t-shirt walked on stage followed by another bloke dressed in 1950s gentlemen's suit and smart hat. These two people are Oaf. One bassist/singer. One drummer. I watched them. I couldn't get my head around what I'd heard. I thought they were awful. So awful that I couldn't stop thinking about what I'd heard, and when I found some songs to play to people to show how awful this band were, I found myself really liking what I was hearing.
That's because it's brilliant. Two people have never made so much noise, or made me laugh as much listening to their lyrics.
This band wrote a song called Giant Ballbag. If you think that's awesome (and I do) you should probably do yourself a favour and check them out.
Very shouty, very loud, very funny. I'm desperate to see them live again.

Ginger Wildheart
My favourite music man by quite a long way. Incidentally I found out about both the above bands through Mr Wildheart. And saw them both support him.
Ginger's just released a triple album. 30 songs. Via PledgeMusic. And it's as epic and wonderful as I'd expected it be. No wait ... more epic-er even. You can still buy downloads of all 30 songs but the physical copies of the triple album aren't available anymore. There's a single disc version being released commercially featuring the top 12 of the 30 songs as voted for by people that pledged. All info in that link to PledgeMusic above. You can hear previews of each track on the site. I genuinely believe there's something for everyone on this triple album so go see what you can find out and give your ears a treat.
Twitter him HERE.
Formspring him HERE (incidentally he answers tons of questions each day on Formspring so if I have fired up an interest then you can send a question and you'll likely get a reply).
Fucked Up
They have an album called David Comes To Life. It's awesome. It's (again) shouty vocals but underpinned by some of the most melodic, energetic music you'll hear. It's hardcore punk vocals meets shiny indie guitar melodies. It's gorgeous.

Ramones
Everyone should love the Ramones. I can't think of anything that would make anyone so bitter and twisted that they couldn't enjoy the simple genius of a Ramones song.
Take That
Ha ha ... kidding.
There's tons more I could add on here, but no-one really follows links do they? I don't. I'm pushing my luck as it is. Still, I had nothing else to say and it's either music or photography that sets my boat afloat so this week you get both.
Lucky you.
If anyone does actually follow any of those links and listens let me know what you think, good or bad, in the comments?
Oh yeah, and there's a photo somewhere up there too. It was really difficult to shoot. But it's 95% what I wanted so ... win!
Now go follow those bands.
No, wait! Come back. I've got more. Can anyone spot the deliberate mistake in the photo? I'll give you a clue, it's not the fact that I wore the same t-shirt two weeks running.
Now go and follow those bands.
