Backbend

wirehead has added a photo to the pool:

Backbend

I always tell noob lady models to bring a nice dress to start out with. See, if you are working with somebody who's got a laundry list of experience, they flip *on* and are ready to go. But even people who are used to other kinds of performing can have issues with photo posing.

So, they'll show up all tight and anxious and stuff. And the last thing they need is some weird-looking guy with a camera telling them to get out the undies and start posing all tarty. They'll look and decide they've got nasty thunder-thighs or wrinkles or something and get even more uncomfortable. And lightpainting or other more intricate work is very slow moving. So having the model pose in a dress is a good place to start. It's not boring street clothes, but it's not a lacy nearly-nothing either.

Also, the model needs to get used to how I work.

So, yes, this was from the first part of the shoot, where we were just getting going.

Strobist details:One 285HV with a blue gel on the MPEX backlight stand for the backlight. A bare 622 as key to the left, a bare 285HV as fill to the right. All optically triggered off of a 144PC in the E-P3's hotshoe.
