Yesterday Nicolette van der Merwe flickrmailed me asking how to put links in her captions. Well, I've been doing this a long time. I built my first web page using Windows 95 on Geocities. I taught myself HTML, and built web pages a year before I knew how to cut and paste type. That will teach you quick! Typing out hypertext as though it is a different language (which it is) over and over again with the smallest error screwing everything up will cement things in your head.
Unfortunately, I do not know how to make hypertext show up in a web browser so I can show someone else how to do it over the internet. So Nico, this is for you. Up there on the wall is my low tech explanation of how to make a link. Click the photo if you need to make it bigger. Don't forget your anchors!
Now the Herrios at We're Here! are having tea to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Well. Where I come from we drink our tea on ice, we don't cotton to no queen, and we don't care where she put her diamonds. But still, I learned not to mock the queen from a squadron of Royal Marines in a bar in Perth Australia. They were all drinking beer to the queen. So I figure that will do as well. I couldn't find any British beer behind the bar, but I think Queen Elizabeth is also Queen of Jamacia, so I hoisted out a Red Stripe.
So here's to you Queenie! On behalf of all the sailors who should have whupped up on some Royal Marines in Perth, keep your HTML straight. Just don't be coming around here showing your jubilee. Unless it's Mardi Gras.
